which says that they are going to make "The Silver Chair" into a movie. Link's from 4 months ago so I may be out of the loop here and this is old news, but I hadn't heard of it before. I'm quite excited though.

Yay. Although, I really want them to make the Magician's Nephew. So far they have only made the ones that the BBC already made. I'd like to see them film the ones that haven't been made into movies yet.

Oooh, the Magician's Nephew would be great! (Not so keen on The Last Battle, though.) My favourite parts were the Wood Between the Worlds, and Charn. Charn was so creepy to me as a kid.

I agree completely. The Magician's Nephew would be amazing (also a candidate for my favorite of the series), and The Last Battle can go fuck itself.

Magician's Nephew is my favorite book. It may have the same filming issues that Last Battle does since its the next most overtly religious after that one. I still want to see it filmed, though. The Wood Between The Worlds bit is awesome, and I always love origin stories.

The Magician's Nephew would make such a good film in the right hands!

The Silver Chair is my favourite of the series, and I was so sad when it looked like there wasn't going to be anymore! Yay, my childhood!

Silver Chair is my second favorite after Magician's Nephew. I'm super excited. And they don't even have to get new casting since all the Pevensie children are no longer in it. I think the boy they had playing Eustace still looks young enough that it will be okay.

The Silver Chair is totally my favourite too. For reasons of a) Puddleglum, and b) the prince, because he gets me right in the id.

Puddleglum is the best Narnia character ever!

I totally missed when they made the third one. I should catch up. The Silver Chair may be my favorite, so I'm definitely up for this.

I missed the third film (keep meaning to watch it...) but adored the first two; the cast is great and the films are so pretty! (I also think they did a decent job of transitioning from book to film. Not often do I feel that way, but I did about the Narnia films.) I didn't think a 4th one was going to be made; this is good news! I hope it's true.

The cast really is excellent. I do think the third film doesn't adapt as well as the other two--the book is so episodic--but Eustace was handled really well and the way they changed the story did flow pretty well for me.

I'm glad you liked it! I heard less about the third film than the first two; wasn't sure if that was because fewer people saw it (maybe there was less advertisement?) or fewer people liked it.

For me the Narnia books are excellent, but they wouldn't adapt very well to movie without some tweaks. They wouldn't be quite exciting enough for some folks without some changes.

The Silver Chair is my favourite book so I'm stoked! I did like the BBC version (Tom Baker as Puddleglum! That gloriously creepy Rillian!) so I wasn't too bummed to think they wouldn't make a movie, but I'm glad they're doing it.

The Magician's Nephew could be cool, although it wasn't my favourite book...I prefer The Horse and His Boy but it's so different stylistically it would be hard to include I think. (But they could use the now-grown child actors as the adult kings and queens, so that's cool!) The Last Battle is unfilmable I should think...I appreciate it like I do Lewis' other religious writings (reminds me of The Great Divorce actually) but it doesn't fit well with the rest of the series, I think.

Another issue with The Horse and His Boy is that it takes place in... damnit, I forget the name of it, but the country that's basically a thinly veiled "Arabia" and full of walking stereotypes.

So yeah... that could be awkward trying to adapt.

BBC version! Yay. I love those versions even though I love the Disney version too (and the BBC White Witch will always be the version I see when I reread the books). Tom Baker was awesome.

I think Magician's Nephew lends itself well to filming, so I'm sad its never been filmed. It would have been hard before CGI, but I think they could do a really good version. So I'm hoping Silver Chair does well and they can do it. Horse and His Boy was not my favorite. The racist undertones made me really uncomfortable (plenty of things in Narnia make me uncomfortable, but this was the most overt). Plus, I never really cared for the main characters the way I did in the other books.

I want 'the horse and his boy' so bad T^T maybe if they keep going with the movies there's still hope!

Me three! I also read it over and over, I've no idea why. I just really liked that one!

I can't remember that book *at all*. I want The Horse and His Boy - that one was my favorite for ever and ever, even more so than Lion/Witch/Wardrobe. Shasta!

...There's more than 1 Narnia movie? Oh MAN I hope they do a Horse and His Boy sometime.
