I've only seen it used like that with a full word, ie "friendshipping". "Shipping" on its own has always referred to romantic/sexual relationships. You can't just extend the term to any relationship or it loses its purpose.

I use famshipping as a single word to describe a pair or group of people I like interacting in a familial way. It's shorthand. And I know a LOT of people who use that same word.
