If we go for purely live action (so as not to name all the versions of Holmes I like) stuff, then Doc Brown and Marty McFly. Also, the Holy Flying Circus!Pythons always cheer me up. And Bell and Doyle from Murder Rooms, but that's a given.

Doc Brown is my all-time favourite, I guess. Because he has both a great brain and a great heart, and because the way he looks and acts is ridiculous but also weirdly touching. I like the aesthetics of the character; he's interesting to draw, interesting to imagine.

I think they mean action heroes as in "heroes of action movies", i.e. stuff blowing up, violence, guns, fistfights. That sort of thing.

But wouldn't it be weird to have two threads about anime and cartoon characters and then make one about action-adventure films and not live-action films as such? Isn't it strangely genre-specific?

But if they meant that, I think je dis passe. Pure action-adventure with a share of violence is so not my genre.

The Doc Brown actor does have a great face. I think I've seen fanart of him a few times and it was always superb.
