Sometimes I think I should learn Braille just in case something happens to my eyes someday and I can keep reading.

What about audiobooks?

And screenreaders. Lots of operating systems even come with them pre-installed nowadays.

I often feel this way, but I never end up doing it. Go for it! It certainly wouldn't hurt!

I think about that sometimes too. It's a terrifying notion.

However, yes, Braille would be extremely handy to know! It couldn't hurt?

I get migraines so sometimes I walk around with a "eye mask cover thing", which has taught me that I can manage surprisingly well* without my eyesight.

Random story time: When one of my aunts was a child she was scared she would lose both her arms so she learnt to among other things open doors and eat with her feet...

It also made the question "would you rather go blind or lose your hearing" easier, that and talking to my blind friend who said that she is happy she lost her eyesight not her hearing.

*In my flat mind you, not the rest of the world

Forward thinking right there.
