You should probably offer to do beta in return though. You could perhaps offer other fandoms as well if you're not so familiar with SPN.
Another approach that's worked for me in the past is to find authors you like in that fandom and just plain out tell them you admire them and would be so happy if they did a beta for you. That one doesn't work so frequently but it has the advantage that you have an AMAZING writer to be your beta if it does.

They may not take you up on it, but I think I've betaed in return for most people who've betaed for me. Perhaps not immediately, but eventually.
