Oh whatever...what other people do isn't something you should feel ashamed of. And creators should either avoid fandoms completely or just accept what their fans so. I don't what that art was, but I'm geussing it was something really hard-core. Whatever, he should just be happy he has fans obsessed enough to do fanart of whatever.

Doesn't mean he has to like it though.

Frankly, I'd probably be LESS willing to meet any of my fans if I were famous and someone pulled a stunt like that. It only takes a few bad apples to ruin a bunch before they go pre-Catholic conversion Anne Rice and Anne McCaffery on fan work. And I don't blame Butch Hartman either.

I would be happy to have fans who draw my stuff. But I would NOT be happy if someone took MY characters -ones that I've spent years developing into fully realized characters- and essentially drew them in grotesque pornography just to get their rocks off. Sure, I'll admit: I've done tasteful sensual artwork of my characters. But there IS a difference between the tasteful and the outright masturbation material shit you see on places like DA.

I'm no prude, but I DO have a fine line between good taste fan art and the sick pornographic/fetish stuff.

Though big 'corporation' shows/comics and anime/manga (where the copyright laws in Japan are fairly vague compared to America's) I can see where they turn a blind eye to porn fan art, although maybe for comics a writer may wag a finger or shake their head in disgust and sigh.

But when you have a more grounded/small fandom for something not so big -especially if it's a creator owned property-, I can understand 100% why he'd be upset. I don't see why that's so wrong?
