ACTION FIGURES

So yeah, this is a thread for talking about small pieces of plastic shaped like characters from things you like. Do you collect them? How many do you have? Or do you think the whole concept is silly as hell?

(I recently got myself a 3.75-inch Gandalf for a wonderfully cheap price. Yay!)

I only collect Funko Pop toys. But I love them!

I collect Wizard of Oz trinkets. I have so many different kinds so that some are in the shapes of the actors and some are cartoonish. I have at least 4-5 containers filled with various trinkets. Two different sets of Barbies, it's crazy.

I have a handful of cute anime figurines, including the beginning of a Mari Illustrious Makinami collection (6 of her so far). I can't help it man. They're so cute. They're so cuuuute. ;_;

(And apparently there may be a new set of Digimon Adventure figurines coming out soon, which, uh. Goodbye, money.)

I'm too cheap and anal-retentive to actually collect things. I get antsy if it starts to look like I'm actually living in my room but I keep stumbling across little lost ones, usually I track down the owner or give them to kids but I have managed to hang onto these two guys for quite awhile.

I found one in a river in Oklahoma (he was already headless when I got him! I don't destroy things for dramatic photographs, I'm just opportunistic) and the other I came across laying on the ground outside a dumpster in an alley.

Right now I have a few Play Arts Kai: FemShep and Garrus from Mass effect, Raiden's MGRising version, and I want Square to sell the dragoon (Final Fantasy) PlayArts variant already. Althoooough... If it's anything like the Warrior of Light, it'll be $120. But I'll still buy it. >.>

Once I get a job, I'm going to get some TF2 action figures. I really want Heavy and Pyro...

Let's see...a couple of Johnny West figures (Josie West and Janet West), a nice Wolverine, the 12" Buffy + scads of the 6" BtVS/AtS figures (my roommate and I used to rearrange them on a shelf every few days), lots of Fullmetal Alchemist figures, a couple of X-men figures, two Gatchaman figures, and a Dirty Pair figure. Oh, and a Dragon from Dragonheart.

So...probably around forty-five plus.

I love collecting toys of characters I like, I've got over 20 sitting on my desk(lots of them are small ones) plus larger ones in my room. I'm not sure how many I have in total but I wouldn't be surprised if it was at lest near 50.

It's something I never really grew out of.

I have a few cute anime figures. I'd kinda like to make my collection bigger but they don't make a lot of figures of characters I like (since most of the characters I'd like figures of are male, and mostly female figures get made). Though I am starting to amass a nice little collection of Madokas.

I recently managed to get my hands on an action figure of Nova, as in Richard Rider, with the non-spiky shoulderpads and classic chest logo. It's even got a removable helmet that fits properly. It's GORGEOUS.
kryptoncat: FFIX's Vivi is reading a book; magic is coming off of it. (THIS LOOKS INTERESTING)

I collect Star Wars action figures, Transformers, Monster High dolls, and assorted figures of other characters. I just bought Jack Skellington Revoltech and a Sally figure and they look amazing! I want the Daft Punk figures that are now out; I'll have to save up half a year for 'em.

So yeah, having little figures of my favorite characters is awesome. Too bad these little 6 in pieces of plastic are so expensive.

I have the 4-inch ones of Thorin, Bilbo, Fíli and Kíli, Dwalin and Balin, and a 6-inch "Battle Action" Boromir figure, which is wildly larger than Kíli (who now resides almost permanently in Boromir's arms, as much as I can get him to hold Kíli).

I also collect Lego Minifigures, though now that includes collecting Hobbit sets to slowly gather up the members of the Company in small and blocky figures. I have Thorin, Fíli, Kíli, two Bilbos, Gadalf, Dwalin, Balin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, and Boromir (again, found on Ebay, because I didn't want to put out $100 for the set when all I wanted was him).

Oh, and those are just my current interests. I also have lots of other Lego men, a big crate of Transformer toys, Kre-O Transformers (Hasbro's Lego copycat), plus probably quite few other things from past interests, including my remnant Barbie dolls (one of them who I named Roz is sitting on top of an old M&M bucket on my desk).

I think I more or less got my hands on just about the last figure of the MC of Persona 3 before it was completely sold out (at least on western-accessible sites) and I paid ~ 40 $ for it. Now, with the PSP and movie version out, there are a few to be bought again, but they start at ~120-140$ and I'm so happy that I got mine when I did.

Other than that, I don't have too many. A few one-coin collectibles and about three proper figures more.

I'm still really tempted to have one of those dollfie things in the likeness of one of my OCs but they are too expensive and I think they're really too big to not be creepy.
