Parts are, yes. Hammond is a lot meaner/eviler, Malcolm dies (but then undoes in the sequel so), Grant likes kids, and him and Sattler aren't A Thing (Sattler has a fiance). Comp Y's are a thing in the books, but not movies, and there's a lot more details about the dinosaurs reaching the main land. I can go into more details later, if you want? I just started my bio lab, so not right now, but later I could?
