I asked the same thing, and all I got was a bunch of people weeping into their pearls about my use of hyperbole and how mean I am wahwah.

I suspect you wont get an answer because no one has anything solid they can use to justify their hate, and no-one has the guts to say why they really hate her: She is attractive, successful, and has a vagina. Those things combined make Emilie Autumn Liddle someone worthy of hate.

She's lied about TONS of stuff (her real name, her family, etc - she is NOT related to Alice Liddell in ANY way), she's made nasty comments about Lady Gaga (saying her music made her "want to blow [her] brains out", she's ruined a lot of her professional relationships, she portrays mental health unrealistically, she's destroyed her voice and all her stage shows are exactly the same, she lied about having some stuff stolen...

There's also the fact that a fan was banned from her forums (a BNF at that), she spread lies and slandered him, saying that he was stalking her (when he wasn't, he was only attempting to ask her something), and after promising several times to look into getting him back into the forum, she instead banned him permanently from the forum, as well as any concert she may have in the future.

Prove it. I'm going to click that link in a moment, but I think it's just another one of those anti-fan websites used to attack her. I'll come back here and apologise for this comment if I find any actual proof in there, but I doubt it.

There are a bunch of people complaining that she and her act 'glorify mental illness' which, I suppose, has some foundation in reality - I speak only from personal experience, but I had a friend who used EA's depictions of asylums as a reason to refuse to get any help, even in the same breath as telling me that she was probably going to kill herself, but then again this friend had some serious issues so I'm not sure that's so much EA's fault as my friend's.

Apart from that, there are near-constant claims that she's 'self-centred' and 'childish' which...yeah, she can act pretty bratty, especially on Twitter, but it doesn't deserve anywhere near the level of venom I've seen from some people.

Oh, and there are a group of people who feel betrayed that she 'lied' about her family all being dead, her name, her being related to Alice Lidell, and a bunch of other stuff that, as near as I can figure, is all part of the character Emilie Autumn that she plays as an entertainer. Like, there are flamewars over her name, which is just bizarre to me. Nobody says that David Bowie is 'lying' because his last name isn't actually Bowie. Nobody feels personally betrayed because Ke$ha isn't actually a party-all-night-erry-night club kid. I just don't get it.

The way she encouraged people with mental illness to never get treated ever, with an "autobiography" that's... well, just read it and tell me how real that is.

I don't hate her but my god I don't like her.
