Because she probably didn't get to go outside all that often. She could have also talked to the staff (which, she probably did, but they were busy and couldn't just stop to chat).

It's why when she leaves the castle in "For the First Time in Forever," she's looking around and jumping place to place...you get the feeling she's not lost. She's not like Jasmine who was all "OOOOH Look at this!" Anna's seen this stuff before, just rarely.
