This happens to me all the time. I've mentioned it on here before, but my favorites are Voldemort = Hades from Hercules and Sabriel = Kris from Pokémon.

(My mental cast of Sabriel is actually made up of people from like 5 different series. It's weird. But then again I was like 12 when I first read it.)
