That's legit. I just... kind of tend to latch onto headcanons of anyone being Jewish. ._.;;

I totally get that... Tbh Levi's probably half the reason I started getting invested in the fandom, haha... Not because he's omg so cool, but because of the Jewish potential oops.

I actually had an interesting conversation the other day, since Levi looks kind of Asian (as much ad you can characterize races in this anime), maybe he's part Kaifeng Jew...

Oh man, I'd never heard of the Kaifeng Jews before, but I looked them up and hell yeah that would be pretty sweet! Oh man if I am ever in China I totally have to check those guys out wow.

there's not much left of them these days. The community lasted for about 800 years, but they were dying out pretty badly in the 19th century, and contact was lost with the World Wars and the rise of Communism. Nowadays it's a pretty sad situation, but in Israel once I actually met a few descendents of Kaifeng Jews who were converting back to Judaism and studying in Yeshiva. I was super excited, and very happy for them that they'd found their way back :)

(so assuming SNK is set in the past, before the community completely deteriorated, Levi could be at least part Kaifeng Jewish ^^)
