But you know what? Why don't you try rewriting some of those romance novel tropes yourself?
I would honestly read the genre if it wasn't so skeevy & sexist. Sometimes I just want to read about somebody getting a happy ending, without all that sexist crap tacked onto the end.
We need romance writers who are willing to break through the limits of the genre. Maybe that person could be you.
