Oh cut out the whole "she manipulated people into giving her all that money" shtick. She only asked for so much, but people gave her more. How the hell is that her fault?

this. I'm not a huge fan of hers, but that criticism isnt valid. The reason she got so much money is people reacted and donated the money after seing how much vitriol was spewed her way over the kickstarter. That's it.

And all this talk f her scamming people makes me roll my eyes

People feel scammed because none of the money appears to have gone to what she said it would go to, i.e. games and the equipment to record herself playing them.

It's not the amount of money; it's that what she ultimately did could have been (and likely was) done with no cost.

I've never seen any of her backers complain, though admittedly I wouldn't have any idea where to find those people, mstly I just see people who didn't donat complain her scamming people. Mostly the same people who got pissy and spewd misyognistic vitriol at for criticizing their prcious videogames. So yeah, I'm wary about it.

That's not to say there aren't valid complaints. There are.

Several of the people who made videos/wrote articles to counter both her videos and her modus operandi are former backers who are now reasonable upset that she doesn't even play the games she's talking about.

It's not her "fault" it's what she was betting on. She's not dumb. She knew well about the internet's culture and just how to push the right buttons to get trolls/genuinely angry people to level hate at her to get well meaning people to throw money at her.

She's out doing conferences now talking about how mean people are to her on the internet. She's monetized being hated on the internet. Of course trolls are mad.
