I'm somewhat new to this area of the 'net. I don't know what BNF means or muns either.
I assume the latter means those who play Game/Anime/Manga characters and they're also muses?

I think half of this slang is derived in fanfics and muse RPs or whatever and that's why I'm not familiar with it, even though I Rp.

Oh, and what does wank mean? Crappy writing?

BNF = Big Name Fan.

To my knowledge, the term originated in relation to fanfiction, but can refer to pretty much any fan whose contribution to the fandom has earned them some manner of celebrity. [Like... Solid & Etc for Hellsing art, for instance.] 'BNF' tends to earn a less privileged nuance because most people associate it with a pretentious attitude and overrated art/fic/essays/ahR-Pee/whatnot. And obsessive groupies.


Wank, as prevalent in fandom_wank (http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank) is another term for 'fandom drama', usually once it's escalated beyond reasonable proportions. [Incidentally, try the link - some of the reports are unbelievably lulzy]


'Muns' = players of certain RP characters.

BNF: 'Big Name Fan' aka someone well-known for their work in their given fandom.

Mun: The player of a character in an RP.

Thank you guys for the explanations. =) I was trying to figure out that acronym but never thought of that.

And just to clarify a mun is someone who roleplays a video game/anime/fiction/tv etc character and it's not their original or fan character, correct?

A mun is the player of any character, fandom or original, mun being short for "mundane", as in: "the mundane (regular) person behind the character."
