I didn't know who he was. I did feel really bad when I read that it was a drug overdose though (for some reason that always makes a celebrity's death seem much worse to me).

I think the worst part of it for me is he "made" the role of Plutarch Heavensbee and I thought he was just so goddamn perfect for it. (I'm the one who made all those Plutarch secrets, PS)

And now I'll never get to see him finish out Mockingjay and someone else will be Plutarch and it won't be the same.

As I understand it, he'd filmed most of the rest of his scenes for Mockingjay, so there isn't going to be any re-casting or anything like that.

He had only seven days left of filming for Mockingjay, so they're going to finish up his part with him still - though as CGI instead of flesh and blood.

Same here. The first time I saw him was as Scottie in Boogie Nights. He made me cry. I'd never seen an actor being that raw and brave in a movie before, and I've seen a lot of movies. We've lost decades of stunning performances, and that is a loss to art and to the world. That poor, poor man.
