AYRT

I have never ever ever seen this...either I fail at reading/noticing this, or my severely locked-down browser isn't giving me the warning. :-(

Seriously, I'm not Hannibal or anything, I just like Internet security....Yeah yeah nothing is secure on the Internet, I know, I know, but I've been commenting a lot lately. Spreadsheet!anon must be overjoyed. D-:

If it helps, the only person who would have seen the IPs was Case. So unless he's spreadsheet anon, you're probably fine. :)

That would be a really interesting twist if he was...

Who is this spreadsheet anon person I keep hearing so much about? O.o

/sporadic lurker

An anon who mentioned once or twice that they keep track of any useful people write here and keep it complied on a spreadsheet.

Though, it's been a while since we've heard from them last, so I'm not really sure if they're still around. Though, it's entirely possible because of the reaction they got from mentioning it, they've decided to keep it on the down low for forever.

You should be fine! As far as I know, only case has access to the IP addresses and he's good about not giving them out.

Paranoia!Nonny here

IDK man I saw a post way back with someone saying they could gank the IP addresses from the View Source in their browser? I certainly hope it's only case....

I could just be view source dumb, but I checked yesterday's post and didn't find anything.

Though, that was after case turned off IP logging, so maybe it doesn't hold true. Idk.

Thank you both! :) Apologies, I had a very bad experience on the Internet where I was deanonymized.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-10 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
This is important to me: can regular users really see other commenters' IP addresses in the source? I really didn't think they could.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-09 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
The warning for IP logging when it's on is actually UNDER the "post comment" button, so it's easy to miss if you have a widescreen monitor and the address bar displayed on your browser.
