If it's not so close to the original as to be plagiarism, go ahead and post it. People are "inspired by" other stuff all the time, but you don't even need to mention that fact if you don't want to.

Thank you! That puts my mind at ease. I just know some people are really funny about fics that resemble other fics in any way shape or form. My fic may have started out with the pulled fic as a jumping off point, but the two are ending up quite different in execution (the original being almost fairytale-like, and mine is much darker).

Also, thanks for letting me know that I don't have to mention where I got the idea if I don't want to. It seems to be an age of transparency that I'm still navigating. I appreciate it!
