For me, it's mostly because all his story lines seem to be driven by his dick, and it's getting *really* boring.

And i adore Stile's touch of larceny.

I like Scott a lot more now than when I first started the show and do think the writers are doing a better job with him now, but it can get boring when they focus too much on the romantic side of things. After I marathoned the first season I never wanted to hear the word Allison again because that felt like all Scott ever talked about and I was just tired of hearing it. However, now I love Allison, Scott and Allison were a much more convincing couple in season two (and I actually grew somewhat attached to them), but things are always changing on this show. *shrugs* Not everyone is going to dig his storylines. His romances are EXTREMELY predictable, I'll give you that; even though I like him with Kira I can't deny it.

Stiles is a little mischief maker, that's part of what makes him so fun to watch.

He's...okay. Heh. I wish they'd cut out 99 percent of the romance and spent a little more time on Boyd and Erica (and the fact that they're dead), and Peter fucking Lydia up (and how she never got to confront him about that) and how the twins killed people like Boyd and Erica but are still *there*, and Derek being fucked around and forced by outside powers to do horrible shite (like kill Boyd) and just....

It's frustrating. I *like* Allison. I like Kira. I like Isaac. I'd like it if their stories which are really interesting and different weren't subsumed by teenage wolfboy in luuuuuurve.

I hear you. It has a lot of unfulfilled potential; if the show actually followed up on a lot of the plotlines they give their characters it would be an entirely different beast. It's very 'sexy funtimes with werewolves!" and other stuff (I.E. storylines and character development) sometimes gets lost in that.

I really wish Boyd and Erica had never died (but then that would've been one less thing making Derek Hale's life shit, and we couldn't have that), or at least that the twins had kicked it in the mid-season finale; they feel so pointless now.

The twins just piss me off. I like that Lydia totally blew her twin off and was like 'you're a bad guy' and actually *remembered* that they killed Boyd and Erica and made everyone's life hell.

And Stiles, too, he's totally not on the twin's side, and Danny's not real happy. Scott actually listened to Stiles but i can see him crumbling too fast. Meh.

Fanfic fixes all, yay! I was very pleased to see a snarky, smart Derek in the last ep. And don't get me started on Stiles being a (scary) badass. Whoo!
elaminator: (Teen Wolf: Stiles)

potential spoilers for next season (as well as recent episodes)

[personal profile] elaminator 2014-02-09 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
IA, I wish Lydia would stay away from Aiden (or whichever one is into her, idek his name) but it doesn't look like she's going to. (IDK if you've seen the previews for next episode...) I wish the writers would let her be consistent about her decision, but they love the drama too much I guess.

I'm glad that at least Stiles isn't a big fan, because it seems like Danny will forgive Ethan too. Again, the show likes the drama of people breaking up and getting back together... Scott is too nice, I think. He's very trusting and forgiving and will probably take them back, but since they aren't sticking around for next season, I don't guess it matters too much.

The bit with Derek and the candy made my damn day. So did Derek enlightening everyone with his Kitsune knowledge; he hasn't had many scenes yet, but they've all been good. Stiles is very scary AND sexy when possessed.

Yes, too all this. So much yes. :)

Every time the twins show up on stage I feel flames, FLAMES burning at the sides of my face. The show already has a shitty record of holding people accountable for their shit (...Peter...) and they're the worst. They killed Boyd, for God's sake, and I guarantee by the end of the season at least one of them will be part of Scott's 'pack'. The one that doesn't sacrifice his life to save Scott.
elaminator: (Teen Wolf: Chris Argent)

[personal profile] elaminator 2014-02-09 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
While I loathe the twins as well, I'm not sure they're the worst. Peter killed his own niece and plenty of others besides, and Deucalion was no saint either; he even got to walk off into the sunset with his eyesight. (Now that was some bullshit.)

I KNOW!! Jayzus.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-09 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
For me, it's mostly because all his story lines seem to be driven by his dick

Totally agreeing on that one. He spends two seasons obsessing about Allison, which is fine, but not as interesting as the actual werewolf parts or Stiles being abducted and beaten or Lydia being hurt or Jackson's scaly problem or Gerard and Peter mindfucking everyone. I'd really like to leave Scott's stereotypical teenage drama in the show and spend fandom on the fun stuff.
tabaqui: (Default)

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-02-09 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. And we get no closure on all the other stuff! Peter basically mind-rapes Lydia...nothing. Stiles is abducted and beaten, Jackson vanishes, the twins!! kill people, Erica -dead, Boyd -dead, Cora! where the fuck has she been since she *vanished out of her burning house at age 11*....

But no, those get skimmed and we get blow by blow, plodding, intimate and boooooooring Allison!and!Scott! are in love!!!! stuff. Arrgh.

(And i actually *like* Allison, a lot, and Kira too, but homg....)
elaminator: (Teen Wolf: Sheriff Stilinski/Melissa McC)

[personal profile] elaminator 2014-02-09 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeaaaaa, this show isn't the one to watch if you want things to be followed up on. It would've been nice to have some sort of confrontation between Lydia and Peter, or more than a mention or two from the gang about Ethan and Aiden killing people (while they still run around wanting Scott's approval, acting like nothing ever happened, urg), and I keep wanting the show to at least mention what happened to Cora after she and Derek left Beacon Hills but...that probably won't happen either.

Look, I like hot people making out as much as everyone else (and I've always been a huge shipper), but I would give a bit of that up if the show would focus more on...well, things other than romance.
tabaqui: (Default)

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-02-09 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
OH, me too. Nothing wrong at all with hot people gettin' down, but the puppy-love-emo aspect of Scott's 'love' is just ....cloying.

And annoying.

Gah.
Oh, well. I still watch. And the fandom is fun, the fic rocks, so.... :)
elaminator: (Teen Wolf: Stilinski's being angsty)

[personal profile] elaminator 2014-02-09 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
The fandom can be wanky as hell, but if you ignore or stay away from those bits it is very entertaining. Lots of talented people in Teen Wolf fandom.

TPos said that Stiles is very much the main character of this season (well, 3b anyway), and I agree with that; even though Scott still has a large role in the proceedings I like that Stiles is getting to do something different and getting plenty of screentime.

[personal profile] tabaqui 2014-02-09 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, i totally avoid all wank and drama, always have - it's just not what i wanna spend my time on. And like Buffy and Supernatural, there are some *awesome* authors out there, writing some amazing stories.

I like it, too - and the actor (don't know anybody's names) is doing an amazing job.
elaminator: (Teen Wolf: Derek)

[personal profile] elaminator 2014-02-09 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Dylan O'Brien (Stiles) is definitely my favorite of the younger actors. He has a lot of natural talent. The older cast members are fantastic as well though, and are generally much more talented than the 'teen' characters, but they HAVE had much more practice so that makes sense.

Damn. I'm away all day and just get home and I missed a TW secret. Everyone already said what I would have anyway :P

NGL, I was wondering where you were. Figured you had either skipped f!s today or were busy; it just isn't a Teen Wolf thread without you!

Aw, thanks :) My roommates and I were out most of the day and I even said to them on the way home, "First thing I'm gonna do when we get home is read F!S," so of course there was a TW secret today!

Tangentially-related, but a friend of mine mentioned wanting to write a story where none of the Hales actually died, they were just all mysteriously not home and don't talk to Derek or Laura. A long vacation in China, extra semester at school, one is in the basement and waiting for someone to notice, another sucked into an alternate dimension, whatever. It would make just as much sense as that Cora nonsense.

I keep waiting for the Cora mention, and hoping that at least they'll have it in passing like with Jackson if we're never going to see the actress again. But I mostly want to see her backstory filled in, because I thought it should have been a big deal that some Hale just happened to not be dead when they should have been.

There was that scene in the 3a part of the season, where Peter and Cora are walking down through the abandoned mall looking for Derek, and Cora mentions that there is nothing untrustworthy about her (particularly compared to him) as Peter's known her for her entire life. And Peter corrects her and brings up the "unaccounted" years, to which she quickly changes subjects. I wanna know what's up with that! Because your theory at least makes sense if it's never going to be acknowledged.

Homg, no kidding. It's all just so *nuts*.
