Being a Scott fan, this reality makes me so sad. It's also why I don't venture into the fandom without screening all the fic for Stiles' name; it's the only way to find a story that isn't all about him.

...how many fics does that leave, exactly? Considering Stiles and Scott are best friends, I can't imagine you don't see some false positives for that tag.

A little less than two hundred fics on Ao3. Sometimes I'll just scan for summaries that are clear about Stiles being present only in the background, but other days I just don't want to see him at all. Hence I don't spend as much time in fandom as I might otherwise want to. I like the character, but dear god in heaven oversaturation is a thing.

But then you miss out on all the awesome Stiles&Scott bro fics! Or just awesome Scott fic with sidekick bff Stiles!

Ugh, don't remind me, it's just so hard to find that kind of good fic out of the endless waves of "Stiles humps somebody and Scott is there somewhere". Though the filters on Ao3 help a lot.
