Actually, Prilosec isn't "weaker" than Prevacid, they're different medications in the same family. Some people respond better to Prilosec or some people respond better to Prevacid or some people respond better to Protonix.

When it comes to medications, often the physician is not the know-all, end all. Doctors only take about one class that involves medications when they're in medical school. When it comes to medicines, your pharmacist is really your best resource.

This whole thread kind of rubs me the wrong way, just because I think we really need a health professional's opinion on a lot of these 'complaints.' Many of them seem to be just a result of people not understanding medicine in general.
