In some ways Hermione and Harry are a better fit and I'll tell you something very strange. When I wrote Hallows, I felt this quite strongly when I had Hermione and Harry together in the tent! I hadn't told [Steve] Kloves that and when he wrote the script he felt exactly the same thing at exactly the same point.

I think that's the closest she comes. I would say it's tenuous at best but I think that's where people are... sort of reporting the drift of things.

She also says that, essentially, Hermione and Ron would probably be fine once they matured a little. And for Pete's sake there was never anything in canon saying that they got married the day after the final battle or anything. But, whatever.
