Point of information, HIV/AIDS was never only in the gay community.

They test all blood for the spectrum of viruses and deficiencies, anyway, so why they would continue this ridiculous policy is beyond me.

It's also a rule in Cananada.

Certain types of sex are considered high-risk behaviour; various STDs are more easily spread via unprotected anal sex because the likelihood of minute tears is higher than during PIV sex. In Australia the question is "are you a man who has had anal sex with another man/are you a woman who has had anal sex with a man who has anal sex with men", last I knew.
