I wasn't big on her because of her Data-dissing as a kid, but on rewatch, I liked her quite a bit! (Still minus the Data-dissing, which occasionally felt a little too on-the-nose -- though I appreciated the idea behind it, I just wished it were a little less sledgehammer-y. But this is TNG...) I thought she brought an interesting dynamic, though, and that they were just beginning to write her better and a little more nuanced right before they switched back to Crusher.

I felt like they were trying and failing to replicate the dynamic between Spock and McCoy.

ayrt - is now imagining Picard barking at a replicator, "Banter, witty, like McCoy-Spock!" And frustratedly making an (e_e) face when Pulaski appears.
