Re: FS, my bf and I got into a stupid argument, and I think I might have broken something I can't fi

I've seen women use this rationalization a lot. "I'm not perfect so it's okay that I'm dating an asshole who treats me badly!"

Nope. You deserve better. Even if you're right and you're immature as well, how do you think that's going to change by dating someone who's as bad or worse off than you are?

But...he doesn't treat me badly. It was a stupid fight that was atypical for both of us. You make it sound like he's some of of abuser, while he's realy acting more like a hurt kid. Which is another problem - but not the same problem.

As for the last part, I'm specifically not drawn to "mature" people because I mostly just want someone to have fun with as a life partner, not someone who wants to do the whole responsible job, white picket fence, 2.4 kids and dog sort of thing. I'm typically not even drawn to guys my age (he seems to be one of the exceptions). At 2 years older, he's my oldest boyfriend ever.

People here are not talking about "mature" in the sense of "the whole responsible job, white picket fence, 2.4 kids and dog sort of thing." They mean emotional maturity--not the jealousy, passive-aggression, moping and sulking, and lack of perspective--as in "you led me on about liking board games!"--that your boyfriend is displaying. Of course, you're not entirely free of these either, but that doesn't mean that this relationship is good for you.

Sorry, I should have said something more like

emotional maturity as opposed to the jealousy, passive-aggression, moping and sulking, self-centeredness and lack of perspective your boyfriend was displaying
