I'm not really invested in the argument I referred to; I just thought it seemed relevant. I do think that there often seems to be a disconnect between what people think women are attracted to in men and what a lot of women say they are actually attracted to. Of course there's also a discrepancy with what men supposedly find attractive in women.

Additionally, the idea that women are all non-visual is used to perpetuate a lot of harmful stereotypes and standards. For example, purity culture uses that idea that men are visual and women aren't to a) shame women for being "immodest" and b) eliminate/curtail women's sexual expression.
