true, but it's not like the books can't be summed up in less than seven seasons. the show doesn't really drag out serial killer plots, so i can't imagine (for example) red dragon taking up more than a few episodes.

I can. *shrug* They've talked about doing Red Dragon as a miniseries-length thing, but even if they didn't, they're out to adapt those stories and make them fit with the prequel stuff they've already done, not just sum them up. Seven seasons at 13 episodes each doesn't even come out to a hundred episodes. It's just not as long as it sounds.
