Well, fine, YMMV and all that, but there ARE people in fandom who seem to think that a trio is a solution to ship wars or a solution to a love triangle, and that's of no comfort to people who just like A & B together, period.

What you're talking about (three characters who already have chemistry), seems to be a separate question from "Don't be sad that C has broken up A and B, just ship All The Things, silly!" which is indeed an opinion I've encountered.
