well the good news is the interview was actually 98% about hermione as a whole as a character and not actually about her and ron, and all that boiled down to was "they would need to work out some things in the future to make it last in the long term"

which

is 100% common and necessary in every relationship so

the news articles on the subject decided to turn it into a shipping thing because simply talking about how interesting a female character can stand on her own isn't good enough
