Because I know desexed ferals (cats) tend to get tattooed, but every rabbit I've adopted here has been tattooed at the same time as desexing/microchipping. So idk if it's an either/or. I do know that the tattoo on my ears is my vet's "symbol" and they micrchip all pets so the hope is
wait, I remembered my old rabbit. She was desexed but not micrchipped. When I got her microchipped later down the track, she was given a tattoo. So perhaps rabbits + tattoo = more identification and less desexed.
My cat/dog experience is minimal (don't have any), but since all dogs and cats must be microchipped around here I guess maybe to show they're desexed?
