So Geek Feminism Wiki...

(Anonymous) 2014-02-15 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
So I actually decided to look around the wiki that case links to for explanations on trigger warnings and I have to ask: Is this wiki representative of what a sizable portion of feminists in geek culture believe?

Cause I was looking around there and I haven't really seen people express (at least here and a few other sites that discuss feminism and "geek" topics) similar views with the same level of belief/conviction/passion as they do there (well besides the more obvious/basic tenants of feminism). So is the wiki a beacon of hope for feminists in geek culture that should be strived towards or is there a good reason I hardly see anyone bring it up?

(My apologies in advance for any wank this may start, I'm not sure if this topic is taboo or not here and it wasn't my intention to start any, just genuinely curious)

I've never heard of it.

Just looked at it, and the "Featured Article" is about Anita Sarkeesian's project with no discussion of the controversies about her which break out here at the drop of a name.

Think about it this way.

Would most uppity geek women go through the trouble to create a website called "Geek Feminism Wiki?"
