I know, but OP was being a condescending dick and I wanted to give it back to them.

But putting aside the nastiness in this thread, I wanted to learn a foreign language. I was really interested in French, in fact! They taught it in my elementary school, but then we moved to a place that didn't have it. I took Latin in high school but I've lost most of it.

And sure, I could use online resources but I don't really see it as a priority right now. Plus I think those will only get you so far and it's nothing like living amongst native speakers and using it on a daily basis. I'm not going to able to move or even take a trip to a French-speaking country any time soon so I'd rather concentrate on my required classes/things I'm currently interested in.

I ran all these through Google Translate just for fun. They are honestly not as bad as some I've seen.

But that last line you just said got auto-detected as Galician. I had to manually correct it to French (which I figured is what it was since you have already used Frenchon this thread, and it looks French-ish to me)

Gallician? Man, that's funny; but not that weird now that I think about it. Both languages are derived from Latin, so I guess there has to be some words in common.

Yeah, I wasn't really surprised. There are so many Romance languages and so many basic similarities. It was pretty funny though, just an epic fail on Google Translate's part. It translated about half of your statement from Gallician to something you didn't even say, but when I made it pick French it translated all of it (I think) accurately.
