How to find fellow aspiring writers?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-15 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Essentially I'm looking for an accountability and motivation buddy. We would check in often or at least once a week with writing goals to keep each other in check, and hopefully write to motivate and inspire. Talk about writing and help each other with bumps in the road, etc. Does anything like this exist or is just luck to find a friend that would do this type of thing?

I do have a couple of friends I do this with, almost by accident. We started by meeting in a small fandom, we did beta for each other on fanfics, and just kept in touch by email when we left the fandom. That would be my best advice.

I have one friend that joined a RL local writers group and that's working for her. There are usually several of these groups in every city.
