and yeah, I know what you mean; while still relatively flat, I did come out of the first book thinking of Maggie and Bud as more than just "Wife Who Doesn't ~Understand~ Her Husband and is Having an Affair" and "Her Lover".
Like, the depths of Beud's actual love for Maggie, adn what happened to him after he lost her, and the fact that Maggie is completely unapologetic, rather then having a ~change of heart~ and than dying. I thought they were interesting for that. :D
