What does 'wear socks with sandals' mean? Because I do that (in late spring, when it's too cold for just sandals but too hot for confined feet), but I'm not sure what it has to do with thinking ASL is/isn't a real language?

It's hard to face the discrimination if you like to wear socks with your sandals. All those people on the street, pointing and shouting "YOU DON'T THINK ASL IS A REAL LANGUAGE! GO HOME, YOU FILTHY SANDALSOCK!"

Makes me sad down to my sock gussets.
