Favorite Beauty and the Beast AUs/Adaptations
(Anonymous) 2014-02-15 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)I'm super excited about the French BatB movie that just came out; there's no US release date so I'll probably end up pirating it until I can order the French dvd. It looks gorgeous. My favorite published BatB adaptation is Robin McKinley's Rose Daughter, because the Beast doesn't change back into a man and also there's rose gardening. I have a soft spot for Mercer Meyer's illustrated kids' book because the art is amazing and Max Eilenberg's kid's adaptation, for the writing more than the art.
My favorite BatB fanfic is A Bed of Thorns http://archiveofourown.org/works/377718, a sprawling AU of a silly tv adaptation of BatB. The character exploration is awesome, the sex is hot with bonus character development, and the author updates fairly regularly. Fair warning, it's really really long and not finished yet.
Re: Favorite Beauty and the Beast AUs/Adaptations
This is the only one I've ever read.

And amazing BandB in the Godzilla fandom
(Anonymous) 2014-02-16 07:26 am (UTC)(link)I cried my eyes out. It's a modern adaptation and done so well.
