Nah, no one would've torn her apart for it if it was a fanfic. People seem to really enjoy OOC Mello/Near, as much as it kills me. I actually thought the characterizations were closer to canon than most of the fic I read (which isn't saying much, but still), though with her it seems to be completely random as to how she portrays them. She drew one doujinshi that was utterly perfect, but I've yet to see anything else by her that presented them the same way. It killed me to realize that the one piece I loved was IC by dumb luck.
