Silly thing is I haven't actually seen the original despite being "old enough" to have seen it. (I know, I know. Truth is I'm actually really bad for not watching things people tell me are "classics")

It actually defied my expectations. I really enjoyed it just as a sci-fi movie. It was really solid.

I went to see it with my boyfriend who is a fan of the original and he enjoyed this one too, although part of me thinks he had extra fun due to making fun of my boner.
