Have you just given me something new to read? Because I've been looking for some form of media that was like Revolution but good.

Anything by Dan Wells is solid gold.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Is it? 'Revolution' struck me as being more like S.M. Stirling's 'Change' novels.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean the novels that ripped off Ariel by Steve Boyett?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
AYRT

Hmm, is that so? I hadn't heard.

Looking into it, it seems that you're correct: the basic premise is exactly the same! On the plus side, Stirling went in a completely different direction with it, but it is distressing that he started from an identical concept (right down to calling it the Change).

Revolution is why I will never get my Emberverse/Nantucket series. Fuck that show.

Ah, so that's the proper name for it. I've just been going around all like "CHANGE NOVELS!"

Interesting! Thanks, OP. :) It seems a bit like a cross between The Stand and Revolution.

I have no idea what Partials is but it's hard to make anything worse than Revolution. If it's the exact same premise, people will still prefer it if it's actually good.

And, thing is, aside from it being post-apocalyptic, the premise really isn't all that similar.

I freakin' adore this series, and I'm a 39 year old librarian (not the intended YA audience). It was one of the best books I've read in a LONG time for YA, and I happily await the 3rd part.

I also watch Revolution, and you know? Yeah... OP, you're probably right. Sadly.

*perks up* I'm going to a book store after work today, wonder if it'll be there
