Because Slenderman is less likely than all those other horror monsters (werewolves, vampires, Jason, random groups of evil children, ghosts, snake monster).

All of those things are totally real, what are you talking about? Especially the random groups of evil children.

They're in the corn!

*laughs* My 70-odd year old professor is not allowed to watch this movie. He thinks it's a documentary about his home state and his wife is afraid to let him find out what it really is.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
For some reason, I find that adorable.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
It really is.

He's kind of spaced out a lot of the time too. He knows his subject extremely well, but when it comes to day to day things, he's so out of it, I'm amazed he makes it to class.

This guy once put a stack of exam papers on the top of his car, brushed the snow off the car, got in, drove off.

He was also in the Soviet Union one year and a guy approached him, said, "I bet they told you there's no prostitution here." My professor said, yes, that was what they had been told. "I can prove to you that that's not real." He replied, "No, thank you, I'm an intellectual historian, not a social historian." Twenty years later he realized he'd been approached by a pimp.

He set his oven on fire *after* he turned it off too.

...and I hope someone who's having a bad day reads these and it brightens their day because otherwise, there's no point to this comment.

This brightened my day! I especially liked the Soviet Union anecdote, lol.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
It definitely brightened mine! I love hearing/reading these sorts of stories. :)

He sounds adorable! Thank you for sharing this!

.... man, if you hadn't specified this prof as a guy, I would've wondered if you were talking about my aunt. Similar age, similar things. She managed to forget her identification when traveling to the Soviet Union... yeah... and there's the (multiple) times she walked out to the bus stop wearing only her bra, having forgotten to put a shirt on... The family has endless teasing material (especially since she's now posting everything she does on Facebook, which includes other stuff like this).

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, thanks for giving me my first laugh of the night. I really needed that.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
AYRT, you're totally welcome.

Try the stories in the replies to the other anon who replied to my comment, I shared some more.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
LMAO

BWAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

that is awesome.

"random groups of evil children"

You obviously don't work in early childhood education. Some of those little bastards are evil and God forbid they find one like them, they will team up.

I knew a four year old who regularly punched people for no reason and he also poisoned the class fish.
