I did not know he was Ben Tennyson.

I have the same problem with his as I do with Derek in the fact that they're too old for him at the moment. (I mean, age 'em up, sure, whatever. Otherwise I get creeped out.)

Yeah, I enjoy Sterek well enough, but only if it's aged up. Putting grown ass men with sixteen year old Stiles wigs me right out.

Different anon and I am right there with you. I kind of wish they'd cast actual teenagers to play teens, I think a lot more people would realize how weird it is to pair an adult with a kid if that were the case. Because right now the actors are all about the same age, so it's easy to forget/ignore the creepy age difference in the characters.

Yeah, that is a problem. However, casting teenagers has issues because there are minor laws about how long they can work, when, and things like that. It would be much more hassle than it's worth.

Maybe if they had just cast Derek as someone older or younger?

Yeah I do realize the logical real world reasons they don't cast teens, but I can dream!

I wish they'd actually pin down Derek's age. They've had a couple different ages for him and I wish they'd just confirm something. I read an interview with Jeff Davis somewhere that in s1 he was thinking Derek to be 18 or 19 but then that would have edged the whole Kate Argent seduction thing into a whole different level of creepy so then he just keeps it vague.

Jumping in to say there was "evidence" that put him around 22 in S1. But since we now know werewolves age differently than people, he could be anywhere from 23-25 at this point.

There was his license in s1 (or was that s2?) but then they came out with the "official birthdays" list and his was different from that, so who the hell knows what's going on. I'm still confused on how much time has passed in the whole series.

I like to randomly headcanon him at around 21-22.

Also, yeah, his license gets shown briefly in S1 and the screencap went around the internet.

Nevermind, I found the list. So they have Lydia's birthday in November, which goes against S2 canon. I hate when TPTB mess up their own canon.

I can't find the list, but it was in the official 2014 Teen Wolf calendar that they listed the character birthdays on the days. No year of birth, so not a huge help with the age debate but I remember a few were contradicting with the mentioned birthdays in the show.

The birthday they have for Allison also goes against canon. The only other person's birthday I remember being mentioned to the day is Jackson and he's not on this list.

I always though stiles' birthday was in the fall and they have summer.

His birthday is definitely not in the summer. It seems to be sometime in September/October, since he was still sixteen when 3a started (the beginning of the school year) but is now apparently 17 (around a month after the events of 3a.

I don't know if this will help with the timeline or not.

But the pilot began with them going back to school for spring semester (so January) of Scott and Stiles' sophomore year, the first season takes place over a couple of months, the second season picks up just as the first season ends, Lydia's birthday (S2E9 Party Guessed) takes place in March (March's full moon is the Worm Moon), and the second season ends not long after that, so Seasons One and Two take place over a few months during spring semester of sophomore year. The first part of the third picks up at the beginning of junior year (so summer has passed) and lasts a couple of months and then the second part of season three picks up not long after as the black light party (S3E16 Illuminated) takes place on or near Halloween. I believe we are somewhere in November now, so it's not quite a year.

And the "official" birthdays make no sense show-wise.
