Natural and normal. Try to keep in mind what my mother says, "babies are designed to survive". In most cases, they come out of the womb hardwired to live and fight like hell to do so.

And don't be too hard on yourself about having a perfect pregnancy; pregnancies are like snowflakes. My mother spent her first pregnancy eating right and exercising all the time and had one nasty first birth (the second was super-easy), while her best friend (who had struggled with fertility issues for so long that the main reason she immigrated to the US was because they said the medicine here could help. And seriously one ovulation pill and she got pregnant immediately after ten years of being barren) sat on her butt and ate candy for nine months, then popped her first kid out easy.

As for screwing up as a parent...everyone is a little screwed up by their parents. It doesn't mean they have bad parents. It just means their parents are human. Just remember that when you make a mistake with your kid, apologize to them. That will go miles.
