I love fanon Snape too! He tends to be less "broken," I think, in fanon than Draco. Maybe because he's pretty fucked up in canon, and we get more of a glimpse of it than we do with Draco (excluding the crying in the bathroom scene).

For my own part, the best part of writing Snape is that he has nowhere to go but up. It's hard to screw him up (over?) any more than JKR already has.
