You can sleep on any side. You can sleep on your back. At the end, sleeping on your back might make your bp dip, but all that means is you'll be dizzy if you sit up fast.
As far as food goes, I did a lot of research on that and while I realize I'm not an expert and other opinions exist, the only things I really would avoid while preggo are deli meat and sprouts because they can be contaminated with listeria.
Basically the main and annoying thing is that you can't take any medicines. Your doc will give you a list of stuff you can take, but it's tiny.
the other thing to remember is that you can read everything about babies and you can talk to people and you can practice on other people's babies but it's something that in the end you just have to figure out and muddle through as it's happening. and the good news is that most people manage to do this okay.
