Well it wouldn't have been fabulous but there's an existing trope of female characters who exist in order to motivate men to do things. It's often much more passive though, like a woman getting kidnapped or something. I'm not trying to say what's objectively better but one is definitely tending more towards an overused trope, imo. ymmv.
