When I first read it it bothered me too. I mean, I know they're old books and that's why but it does really put a damper on my enjoyment of the series.* I wonder how Disney will deal with that if they do the movie. If they deal with it at all.


*I only say series because the racist stuff, mostly with the Calormenes, are in more than just The Horse and His Boy.

Disney isn't handling them anymore. But I think it would be easy to "clean it up" for the movies. They could make the Calormenes not so obviously Middle Eastern and give them some character depth. Make Rabadash evil because he was a spoiled prince, rather than be cause of the culture.

Fox released VotDT. I don't know if they still have the distribution rights, though. As far as I know, Walden is still backing them.
