Criticism is one thing. 'I'm mad because a white guy wrote about Japanese ladies!' is not criticism. It's just funny.

Just throwing in my two cents, but my understanding is that the issue is less "white guy writes about asian people," and more "white guys writes book about asian people that relies heavily on stereotypes and read like the author was typing the manuscript one handed".
