What are you talking about? Don't you know teenagers now (especially girls) are the worst ever???

Teenagers NEVER misbehaved or were shallow or whatever before now (especially MY generation). We were all perfectly mature, composed and intelligent little adults.

Not like kids these day *shakes cane*.

Reminds me...

My cousin, who is a few months younger than me, posted on facebook the other day that he used to take a snow day as an opportunity to shovel other peoples' driveways for money, and that "kids these days are so lazy!" And I thought to myself, "pfft, I didn't go around shoveling driveways as a kid!"

There's "good" kids and "bad" kids in every generation. And when we look back, we always think that we were better, even if it wasn't really so.

There have been writings found about people complaining about "those damn kids speaking slang and having no manners" dating from ancient Rome. Really, every generation has its problems, and telling the kids to get off your damned lawn has been a proud tradition for several millennia.

Geez, you can go back even a little further from that. There are quotations attributed to Socrates that amount to "those damn kids!"

I especially like the ancient Egyptian tomb from ~4000 BC.

I dunno, I'm almost 24 and I don't think my generation is all that great.

(Though, to be fair, I did at one point. Until I came to my current college.)

Well, it's a generality. :) There are always some folks who are self-aware.

I'll admit that I went through a period where I thought that I was of a "better" generation, but I've come to realize that I wasn't. None of us are really all that great.
