Granted it's less "got better" and more "Bryke looked at the animation from Japanese studio B and were like 'oh shit! this is crap!' and begged the original Korean studio A to complete the rest of the season," but yeah.

Storywise, the origin story episode is where it picked up for me and I think even people who lost interest in the show should watch that at least. Just pretend it's a stand-alone thing.

Oh, definitely. I'm still trying to convince my sister to watch those two episodes. She loves the original series (after I spend six straight months back in 2006 pestering her to watch) but really hates the way Korra's turned out.
