Really.
If you love the book, really, don't go. It'll hurt too much.
Will's now 13/14 and American, his family is abusive, there's no Arthurian mythology (heck, no pagan elements whatsoever), the ladyperson who lived in the mansion and was in a wheelchair can now walk and fight with a sword, Merriman fights with a mace or something, Will has a twin who was taken by the Dark (I shit you not), Max (remember the artsy brother?) also becomes a bad guy, there are bad kung fu scenes, Maggie (the girls who gets the Walker to betray the Light) is now a love interest for Will, the Walker's just not in it AND I COULD GO ON.

Or view it as something that's absolutely nothing to do with the book EVER, but then you're still left with a crappy Harry Potter knock off.

I agree with everything you just said. I knew the movie was going to be terrible, but I had to see it anyway... and I really, really wish I hadn't. There are no words to describe how badly it upset me.
